The project explores the broken link between Kansas City and the Missouri River, lost due to industrialization and flooding. Design intent is represented in model form, showing the grid of the city and the waves of the river curling together in a circular embrace: Kansas City reconnected to the Missouri River. The site is located in the forgotten space between city and river, on the site of Westport Landing, the town which eventually grew and expanded into what is now part of Kansas City. Paper and clay studies led to an understanding of existing textures, topography, and ruins on the site.
