Abstract

Field stands of soybeans are usually poor in tropical environments due to seed deterioration in ambient storage. Seed deterioration begins when soy-bean plants reach physiological maturity in the field (Delouche, 1981). The final quality of the planting seed is affected by weather conditions during seed maturation and by temperature and relative humidity during seed storage.
