Abstract

This paper discusses the impact Spanish heritage learners' (HL) identities have on Spanish language instruction at the high school level. It identifies Spanish HLs, discusses the connection between language and identity, and relates Spanish HLs language learning to the context of a high school Spanish foreign language classroom.
