It’s hard to examine or evaluate our education while confined within its years. Until a certain age, we all attend school. Most of us graduate high school. Some of us enroll at a college or university. But at what point, aside from a statutory angle, does our education transition from imperative to optional? That depends on an individual’s goals. More importantly, does our education value academic learning or the appropriate achievement of certain established benchmarks?
