Abstract

The clock in the Campanile strikes midnight on a Saturday evening and a guy kisses a gal. This scene could almost be from a novel, yet it is only one of the traditions at Iowa State. Thus a girl becomes a co-ed- which is supposed to help "a freshman woman to become less green, a sophomore to become more smooth, a junior to be more tactful and have a special polish, and a senior woman to acquire a true "woman-of-the-world outlook" or at least so states the Daily dated 1940.
