Abstract

After the flooding of 1993, growing conditions in 1994 appear to have been nearly ideal. As of October 9, 1994, 99 percent of the corn cmp and 98 percent of the soybean crop in Iowa were rated in good to excellent condition. The last record yields for corn and soybeans in Iowa were set in 1992 at 147 bushels per acre for com and 44 bushels per acre for soybeans.
