The past ten years have seen remark· able interest in the application of artificial techniques to the breeding of dairy cattle in this country. The most extensive and refined research as well as the most practical appeal to the farmer-breeder is centered on this class of livestock. By contrast, the artificial insemination of swine is still in the experimental stage. The question, that arises at the present time is the difference in popularity between these two classes of livestock with regard to artificial insemination.
