Abstract
Colibacillosis, clostridial enterotoxemia, coccidiosis, transmissible gastroenteritis, and rotavirus are the most common causes of diarrhea in pigs from one day to three weeks of age. Diarrhea in neonatal pigs is one of the most important causes of economic loss for hog producers. In a 1985 National Hog Farmer survey, 51.8% of U.S. hog producers reported problems with baby pig scours, a 2.9% increase from 1970. In the same survey 22.5 % of producers said neonatal diarrheas caused their greatest economic loss, twice that of any other problem named
