For months a cloud hung over the Veterinary Quadrangle-a cloud of rumors. Subjects of all sizes and shapes with proliferous reproduction were common gossip among the veterinary students. Even the most interesting lectures of the veterinary professors could not cope with these ever present rumors. The only portions of the rumors distinguishable were scattered adjectives and nouns—army, enlistment, barracks, buck privates, militarization, G. I. uniforms—all of which added to the confusion and indecision. Finally, the cloud settled and some of the rumors became facts.
