Abstract

Wunderbar (and welcome to Germany)! Our first ISU College of Veterinary Medicine trip to Hannover, Germany as a study abroad experience went off without a glitch. Sixteen ISU veterinary students (a mixture of second, third, and fourth-year students), along with two academic instructors, Dr. Eldon Uhlenhopp and Dr. John Kluge, made the trek to the "TiHo" on July 30, 2000. In case you are wondering what the "TiHo" is, it is officially the Tierarzliche Hochschule, (which means veterinary school) and is one of several veterinary schools in Germany. This trip was actually a three-elective summer course that focused on veterinary and public health issues from the European perspective.
