Abstract
One of the purposes of this article is to give the reader a more thorough understanding of some of the properties and uses of penicillin. However, before proceeding further it might be wise to devote a few paragraphs to the terminology used in connection with this antibacterial substance and then give a few of its physical and chemical characteristics.
