The Integrated Pest Management Research Issue Team was formed in 1990, shortly after the last major alfalfa weevil outbreak in Iowa. The long-term objectives of the IPM interdis ciplinary research team are to (1) integrate biological, cultural, and chemi cal controls, as well as interactions of diverse pest complexes (insects, patho gens, and weeds) into IPM decision mod els, and (2) deliver environmentally and economically sound IPM systems for sustainable agri cultural systems in Iowa.
