Abstract

A brief history of the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station is prl'Sented. From its inception in 1948 to the present, considerable growth has taken place. At this time, we have 295 genera, of which 173 are ornamentals and many of the rest are crop plants. These plants need to be maintained, preserved, evaluated, and catalogued, so they can be distributed to scientists involved in research, teaching, and extension.
