Review of Progress in Quantitative Nondestructive Evaluation
Center for Nondestructive Evaluation

Begun in 1973, the Review of Progress in Quantitative Nondestructive Evaluation (QNDE) is the premier international NDE meeting designed to provide an interface between research and early engineering through the presentation of current ideas and results focused on facilitating a rapid transfer to engineering development.

This site provides free, public access to papers presented at the annual QNDE conference between 1983 and 1999, and abstracts for papers presented at the conference since 2001.

Abstract

High-resolution inherently multi-dimensional data from a variety of different inspection modalities is now routinely available. Whereas maximum data density used to be severely restricted by available hardware, the limiting factor now is the software used to display and analyze the data. The current challenges are to perfect new techniques to capitalize on vastly increased hardware capacity, and to reconstruct the enormous quantities of raw data into standardized forms that can be easily interpreted, quantified, and compared against other datasets, including those taken at different sites using different machines and protocols.
