The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences focuses on information from the fields of medicine (anatomy, physiology, microbiology), obstetrics (the study of and problems pertaining to animal reproduction), and radiology (proper handling & processing of radiology procedures and equipment), all with an emphasis on problems and their solutions relevant to companion competitive-athletic animals.

History
The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences was formed in 1965 as a merger of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, and of Veterinary Obstetrics and Radiology.
