Despite the rather inclement weather, there was a good showing of people at Hoist Forest on October 22, 1977 for Fall Foresters Day. As the temperature dropped and the rain continued to fall, the fireplace in the shelter became more popular than the events. Despite the rain, all events were run except for the water boiling contest. The days activities were concluded with the tapping of the keg and a feast of smoked pork chops.
