A few years ago, at the invitation of some agricultural engineers, I put together a paper on the long trend in wood use in the United States. The paper traces apparent consumption of four groups of wood products from the beginning of this century: 1. Chemical, pulp, and particle products 2. Sliced products (veneer and plywood) 3. Sawn products (lumber) 4. Round and split products (e.g., firewood)
