It hasn’t been done for a long time, but on Saturday, April 21, 1979, Spring Forester’s Day was held at the Holst Tract State Forest. The day was modeled after Fall Forester's Day, having field events and a large meal at the end of the day. The day was set aside to increase enthusiasm, participation, and comradeship among participants rather than the usual competitive atmosphere that is felt during Fall Forester's Day, which is held just prior to the Midwest Conclave, in which ISU participates yearly.
