Abstract
Many species of colorful and vocal songbirds, waterfowl, game birds, birds of prey, and wading and shorebirds nest in Iowa. This publication provides several tables, complete with distinguishing characteristics and nesting habits, for these common birds. Suggestions for attracting nesting birds to your yard, as well as ways to protect them, also are discussed.
