Abstract

General conditions seem to justify a more extensive production of wheat and rye on Iowa farms, both crops being reasonably well adapted to Iowa soil and climate. The most accurate figures available Indicate that there Is a world shortage of food stuffs which Ia bound to make a strong demand for cereals during the next few years. Prices for grains, and especially those used primarily for breads, will undoubtedly maintain a high level. Under such circumstances profitable returns are assured to the farmers who produce grain crops.
