Abstract

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) is a scientific organization founded in 1915 for several purposes, among them the responsible application of ecological data and principles to the solution of environmental problems. In keep1ng with this purpose, the President of the Society, Dr. H. Ronald Pulliam, charged this committee on 3 September 1991 with the task of conducting a scientific review of proposed revisions to the 1989 ''Federal Manual for Identifying and Delineating Jurisdictional Wetlands'' as presented in the 14 August 1991 Federal Register. This report contains the committee's findings and recommendations.
