Abstract

Korean people have constituted ethnically and culturally homogeneous nation states occupying the Korean Peninsula and its surrounding area for thousands of years. With the rise and fall of individual kingdoms, each evolving dynasty was accompanied with conflicts and changes of ideologies, which not only brought the invention of new dress items but also gave a whole new meaning or usage to the previously existing items.
