Abstract

Idiopathic calcinosis circumscripta is a rare and unusual disorder that seems to have a predilection for young, large breed dogs. There is an abnormal deposition of calcium in tissues usually overlying bony prominences. This disorder has been reported in humans, horses, cats, dogs, a cow, a buffalo and nonhuman primates.
