Abstract

Ochratoxin A (1) was isolated by Steyn and co-workers1 from some strains of Aspergillus ochraceus. Interest in this toxic metabolite and related compounds such as ochratoxin B (2) is prompted by the health hazard they pose because of their occurrence in agricultural products.
