This creative component looks at twenty-five young adult novels featuring the topic of suicide and compares CDC data to data collected from the twenty-five novels in the areas of race/ethnicity, tone, gender, and location. A teaching and discussion unit using 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher with daily lesson plans and calendar is also included.
