The farming industry is a tough and chaotic one. Grain farmers are pulled in numerous directions and wear many hats to accomplish their annual task of raising commodities at a profitable level. Many farmers find grain marketing to be one of the most challenging components when farming, but also one of the most important. The purpose of this project aims to assist in managing risk when marketing grain by educating producers, landlords, and bankers on the markets, explaining strategies for selling grain, and organizing those sales across multiple crop years. The Grain Marketing 101 project has found success with Southern Nebraska farmers and looks to continue expanding and improving for years to come.
