The adoption of conservation best management practices is critical to achieving water quality improvements. Much research has been published on the variables that affect the adoption process of conservation best management practices. This creative component was performed to apply previous research to improve conservation best management practice promotion by the Black Hawk Lake watershed project, a watershed improvement project in Sac and Carroll counties, Iowa. Studies of adoption from the past 30 years which researched variables of adoption of phosphorus reducing best management practices were included in the analysis. The vote count method was used to analyze the studies found to meet the inclusion criteria. This creative component includes the results of this meta-analysis, along with recommendations for the Black Hawk Lake watershed project based on the results of the meta-analysis.
