Abstract

A new publication, Integrated Pest Management of Alfalfa Insects in the Upper Midwest, has been jointly published by University Extension and the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture. The publication, written by nine entomologists and agronomists, is the result of multiyear research projects partially funded by the Leopold Center. The publication is 48 pages in length and contains chapters on the role of integrated pest management in sustainable agriculture; alfalfa growth and phenology in Iowa; insect pest management in alfalfa; and biology and management of alfalfa insects.
