Abstract

In the months before the presidential election, change hangs in the air. A shift in power is promised, with the potential of unlocking secrets the world has been hiding for centuries. The Elementals are ready to finally breach the surface and come into the public eye. Senator Edward Seong, the favored candidate for the presidency, promises the masses to emphasize marginalized voices if elected. In secret, he promises his fellow Elementals that their voices will finally be heard among the others, that they will have their day in the sun. Not everyone agrees with the methods being used by Edward Seong and other members of the Order. Across the country, the people know something is happening. Matt just wants to get through his senior year, Madeline sees the potential for her future, Vivian’s life is being guided beyond her control, and then there is Edward’s daughter, who has been missing for a month. The world needs change, but even with the ability to do so, power can corrupt the most well-intentioned causes.
