Abstract
This publication provides mini biographies for several important Iowa conservationists, including John F. Lacey, the pioneer of federal conservation legislation; Bohumil Shimek, Iowa’s first environmental educator; Louis H. Pammel, founder of Iowa’s state park system; Ada Hayden, first voice for preservation of Iowa’s prairies; and Aldo Leopold, pioneer of modern conservation.
