Palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri) – It has been five years since Palmer amaranth was first identified in Iowa, with the species now having been reported in 54 counties. The majority of introductions occurred during 2016 due to the planting of native seed mixes contaminated with Palmer amaranth seed.
