Twenty-five years ago the English walking hat, with the brim curved high at the sides, with an enormously wide ostrich plume starting from the back and dipping to the extreme front edge, were in vogue. Also, the lovely picture hat of Irish lace and ermine, with pink roses garlanded over them were entrancing.
