The Honors project is potentially the most valuable component of an Honors education. Typically Honors students choose to do their projects in their area of study, but some will pick a topic of interest unrelated to their major.
The Honors Program requires that the project be presented at a poster presentation event. Poster presentations are held each semester. Most students present during their senior year, but may do so earlier if their honors project has been completed.
This site presents project descriptions and selected posters for Honors projects completed since the Fall 2015 semester.

Abstract
The bells of Iowa State are among the most iconic symbols of the university. Alumni and fans enjoy listening to the Campanile, but because they may be located throughout the nation, most are unable to come to campus to hear them. Design is currently underway to build a one-fifth scale travelling Campanile-Carillon to visually reflect the landmark and will be playable just as the original. The carillon will be more accessible in comparison to the Campanile so the general public can operate it and see how the bell mechanisms work. This will instill an interest and appreciation for music, engineering, and the history of this antique instrument. It will also be used to attract more students to continue their higher education at Iowa State University. But in order for this model to safely and reliably travel across the country, logistics need to be established. All potential trailers and pallet jacks were analyzed to determine the best suited option. Additionally, the setup, teardown, and trailer loading procedures have been developed to maintain a safe environment and increase efficiency. The hope of this project is to bring the bells of Iowa State to the rest of Iowa and the nation.
