Description

This project reviews the ISUCF’V’MB’s processes and tasks associated with the logistics of the band and the equipment used throughout their exhibitions during the 2018 season. Processes include the unloading and loading of the sousaphone cases after a Gameday at Jack Trice Stadium, moving the marching band off the field after a half-time performance, and the handling of equipment in the Windstar buses during away exhibitions. This poster explores the methods used, visuals encompassing various methods implemented, and the variability accounted for within each process. All the processes shown were tracked with a stopwatch and recorded promptly. These processes were analyzed and observed in order to take away time devoted to secondary activities so it may be used for primary tasks of the band. Supply chain methods used include lean production management and task reduction strategies. These strategies were used to help reduce the time commitment for student marching band members during a Gameday.
