The Honors project is potentially the most valuable component of an Honors education. Typically Honors students choose to do their projects in their area of study, but some will pick a topic of interest unrelated to their major.
The Honors Program requires that the project be presented at a poster presentation event. Poster presentations are held each semester. Most students present during their senior year, but may do so earlier if their honors project has been completed.

Abstract
As technology has become ubiquitous, consumer usage has increased. While many scholarly consumer research has been conducted concerning self-service technology (SST) in retail, airports, banks, and other environments, consumer perceptions towards SST usage in the meetings, expositions, events, and conventions industry is an under-explored area in current hospitality, tourism, and event literature. The aim of this research is to examine event students’ perceptions toward self-service kiosks (SSK), an emerging example of SST, in checking in or registration processes at events. To achieve the objectives, we obtained data (N = 83) from a survey questionnaire through convenience sampling. The questionnaire includes three photos of the sample SSK usage and 18 questions divided into three sections adapted from previously used scales cited in a review of related research literature: (a) perception of self-service kiosks; (b) personality trait; and (c) sociodemographic information to measure respondents’ perception toward SST. Data analysis was performed by using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. The results of data analysis revealed that respondents perception of SSK as a quick-response, reliable, and high data security technology. The results provide event professionals’ insight to understand event students’ perceptions toward SSTs at events, thus developing effective marketing and planning strategies.
