The first national meeting of textile and clothing professors took place in Madison, Wisconsin in June 1959. This paper discusses the results of a literature review of the terms adaptive clothing, functional clothing, universal design, and inclusive design, which are used in the clothing industry when marketing wearable product to people living with disability.
