Levels of fertilizer and pesticide usage in Iowa may change in response to at least two forces. One is growing public concern about the envi­ ronment, which has resulted in increased regu­ lation of the manufacture, distribution, and application of chemical pesticide products. Use of some products has been severely re­ stricted, while others are under evaluation.
