Library Information Technology Services
We provide and support all of the library’s technology needs. We provide technical assistance and training to library staff, manage the library website, our integrated library management system, and the Tech Lending program for students. Some employees of the State Library of Iowa's SILO Project, which coordinates a statewide catalog and interlibrary loan system for public libraries, work in our department.

The department maintains an active public service, outreach, and tour program to both on-campus and off-campus groups, including academic classes, the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, the Honors Program, ISU Learning Communities, Extension and 4-H groups, and K-12 student groups such as National History Day. The department also creates virtual exhibits for online visitors to its Web site, as well as exhibits for the Reading Room area and other locations on campus. The Reading Room, located on the fourth floor of Parks Library, oversees the central campus, and researchers and visitors are always welcome

Library Assessment
The Iowa State University Library Assessment Program (ISULAP) raises the Library’s visibility and promotes the value of its collections, programs, services, and expert staff to multiple audiences both on- and off- campus. Using words, numbers, imagery, and context ISULAP assists users of the library in benefiting from the library and the services the library provides.
