Abstract

The present invention relates to the isolation, purification, sequencing, and functional characterization of the class I diterpene synthase sequence OsKSLl 1. Transcriptional control of OsKSLll provides a means of regulating production of stemodene. Further, since OsKSLll is highly homologous to OsKSL8, identification of the sequence of OsKSLll will facilitate identification of underlying enzymatic determinants that affect product outcomes With these enzymes.
