Abstract

Leadership has been a focus of higher education since the inception of colleges and universities (Astin & Astin, 2000). Although leadership has been defined in different ways, it resonates as a principle within many higher education institutions. Although the commitment to leadership development has remained strong, different perspectives on leadership have gained prominence and a plethora of models perceptions, theories, and definitions concerning leadership and leadership development have emerged (Bass, 1 990)
