Description

Effect of multiple scattering is studied for cracks in the three-dimensional elastic body. The multiple scattering problem for cracks is formulated by the boundary integral equations. The Born series algorithm is introduced to solve the boundary integral equations. The convergence of the Born series is examined and the effect of multiple scattering is discussed for the scattering cross-sections. A configuration of a principal penny-shaped crack with satellite cracks is chosen to investigate the effect of adjoining satellite cracks on the scattering cross-sections.
