Anisotropie media are of great importance in practice and in scientific research. Orthogonal (Orth.) crystal is a favorite crystal with simplest anisotropic structure and large nonlinear optical properties. However it is difficult to grow large and pure. During the growth crystals, if not taking care, some tetragonal (Tetr.) crystal phase will be mixed in it. It is difficult to make measurement of anisotropic conductivity for in this medium. According to the theory of lattice heat conduction, conductivity is related to lattice phonon state density (i.e. related to lattice constants and its texture). So the tensor of thermal conductivity for Orth. crystal is different with that for Tetr. crystal. Thus measurement of anisotropic heat conductivity is of considerable importance. From such measurement, we may detect the anisotropic conductivity and yield information of purity of Orth. crystal
