Pipes are important components of oil and chemical plants, in particular, In Service Inspection (ISI) is required to guarantee it’s running safely. Therefore, the detection of defects in pipes is an extremely important topic [1,2]. However, few papers have been reported on detail analysis of wave propagation within pipes. Galdos, Okuda and Yagawa [ 1 ] studied the reflection of a longitudinal wave by a small crack existed in a pressure vessel.
