Abstract
During the deconstruction period, Jacque Derrida had been a major influence in architecture. Past architects such as Peter Eisenman and Bernard Tschumi collaborated with the French philosopher to work on 'deconstruction' architecture. This thesis explores the link between the two subjects, and focusing on one of Derrida's specific point - Binary Opposition, from his work 'Of Grammatology'. Binary Opposition is used to analyze the proposed site condition, design scheme, and impact of the architect toward its environment. The thesis documents the attempt to translating text to architecture, and process and development of the design.
