Abstract

Let y(,i)(i = 1, 2, ..., n) be observations on n objects or individuals. The object with the largest y-value is taken as best. We consider the problem of selecting s( 1, no solution can be found in the literature. In this dissertation, the exact probabilities of various selections are obtained and extensive tables are given in the bivariate normal case.
