Abstract
The antibiotic use in the food producing business in the Netherlands is one of the highest in the EU and has great governmental attention. Vaccination can play a vital role in the reduction of the use of antibiotics and at the same time improve the technical performance. Production data of a 460 sow farm was retrospectively reviewed from January 2008 until December 2009. Begin 2008 the farm expanded their fattening unit from 1900 to 3500 places.
